Description
Many industrial technologies begin long before the appearance of a production line — with a question posed in a laboratory, an experiment, or an engineering solution. But how can a scientific result go beyond the professional circle and become the start of a conversation with an enterprise? Participants will discuss how to talk about research so that industry can assess its possibilities and limitations, future engineers can see interesting tasks, and a broad audience can understand how technologies are created. Using examples from various fields, scientists, engineers, and representatives of the industrial sector will discuss what a potential customer needs to know about a development, how to speak about prospects without premature promises, and what role scientific media, educational projects, and awards play in this dialogue. Where does the result of a scientific experiment end and the task for joint work begin? What questions should industry ask scientists — and what questions should scientists ask industry?
