Description
Additive technologies (AT) have become an important instrument of Russia’s technological development: they accelerate production dozens of times, make it possible to create products of complex shape, and restore parts and equipment. 3D printing technologies are actively used in industry, aviation, space, medicine, and energy: they help produce prototypes and small series, manufacture parts on demand, and reduce dependence on supply chains. The metal 3D printing market demonstrates particularly active growth: the number of manufacturers is increasing and the range of equipment is expanding; Rosatom has already formed the industry and a comprehensive offering — from the production of 3D printers for metal printing, powders, and software to service support and the creation of turnkey additive technology centers.
For further scaling of the technologies and the integration of additive manufacturing into technological processes, an increase in equipment automation, expansion of the range of materials used, and close interaction between business, government, science, and education are required.
